i'm really doing pretty good with my flatland barspins. i know they say its one of the easies tricks but i'm still happy. (i'm doing really good with 180 barspins) i'll probably practice a few more days before i try a 360 one.

i find it hard to barspin once i have the bars backwards (after the 180 spin)

u can do 180 barspins?!!?!? holy **** that was fast....
or do you mean you can barspin on half way?

you should learn how to do it anyways....you might need it, you never know

are you standing on the pedals or pegs theres a big difference in the skill level between the two?

i don't have pegs yet. so i'm using the pedals. let me guess, standing on the pedals is easiest

No not at all. Standing on the pegs requires alot less weight control and balance. When you stand on the pedals you really have to balance your weight at your knees when their pressed against the seat. If your doing it right you should be able to do no handed manuals soon.

Nice 1 rice . your progressing real fast . i have been riding for about 6 months and i can air around 2-3ft out of a 9ft quater, it dont sound like much but it is a great feeling. Can any one give me some advice on how to air 4ft and land at the TOP of the ramp, i either case up on the coping or land some where at the bottom . Any help is helpfull. (sorry for going off topic)

sorry. i don't much about that stuff. belive it or not but i've never been on a vert ramp before

i was riding today and i was jumpins stairs. i jumped 3 stairs. i know its not much but its a sweet feeling as you're flying through the air

Believe it or not 90% of the current BMX community hasn't been on a vert ramp before.

Tazz - You are doing awesome really. It will take you several years really before you are really comfortable on a vert ramp, and you WILL have to stick with it almost every day. I rode for a few months when I started riding on a 8 foot vert ramp and never really got the hang of more than about a foot. It's still more than most riders learn.

One of the craziest things to see is dirt riders who are really comfortable with box jumps and can do big 360's and no handers and stuff... but they don't have any control on a vert ramp or any other type of ramp really. It's interesting to watch.

yeah since i just ride street and flatland....its kinda cool to watch the dirt jumpers pull 10ft+ of air and land these huge tricks

Thanks BMXTRIX , i dont get that much time to ride, me being in england, its always crappy weather + i only get the chance to go to a indoor park every friday night for about 5 hours. when we have a break from education i travel on up to a place where the bmx population is realy high. i ride all day every day up there with my mates and i have a realy good time for about a month. p.s 6 month is only the rough times i have rode. because where i live i know 1 person that rides a bmx and hes a real lagg and i get easliy bored, but i do get out on my own to ride street sometimes.

You're doing fine.. I've been riding for like 5 years and can't air out of vert at all.. never tired, but still. 5 hours a week at a skatepark is awesome.. I only get to a skatepark (FDR) not really a normal skatepark every once in a blue moon.. It's close, I just never get there. You're doing good. keep up the riding.

okay. i'll make it real easy.

1. get a life
2. locate bike
3. mount bike
4. put hands on bars
5. put feet on pedals
5.1. silly bugger you should have read 6 or you wouldn't have bailed sideways!
6. start pedalling (optional, you could tap your heels together 3 times and recite "there's no place like air, there's no place like air")
7. locate ramp
8. aim for ramp
9. pedal like six sorts of hell are chasing you
10. hit ramp with front tire, THEN back tire
11. get air
12. lean forward
13. moveth noteth thou feeteth
14 land
