In the U.S. a bike like that may be worth $90-$100 if it were cleaned up. Don't know what the market is like in NZ. Maybe ask them to make you an offer?

id give you up to $100 for it as its the style my wife likes. if it was cleaned up - rust taken care of, paint touched up and given a nice detail shine etc it might go up to 200 - but realize I am in the SF bay area where bicycle prices are high and hipsters go for the retro casual look. no idea how the kiwi market is.
if I just had the bike out back and was not using it.. and someone said" Hey want to sell that bike?" id probably go: sure, $50.
