Plum Vainqueur ID, price?

I'm getting pretty good at finding vintage bike info on my own, but this one must be fairly rare. I found the original shop in Ghent, Belgium and all that, but it seems the frames were decently rare. The chrome dropouts and lugs tell me it might be a fun one to ride... anyone have any notions as to what model/tubing it might be? Also, what crank is that? I KNOW I've seen it before but I couldn't refresh my memory looking through Velobase.

RD is Suntour SVX, apparently the word "tornado" is written near the front and rear dropouts.

I may go take a look.

What is written on the seat tube?

The crank looks like it is an inexpensive swaged model.

I'll see if I can find out. I'm trying to decide if it's worth the drive over.
I kind of think the frame has been subjected to 'upgraded' components
Stem to me looks like late 80s or early 90s.

Yeah, the stem is out of place.

The lettering on the seat tube reminds me of the old Atala font.

$100 with nice forged drop outs; I'd check it out. Nice bit of chrome as well; looks to be a quality bike.

Noel DeJonckheere who coached 7-11/Motorola and had a great pro career rode a Plum. His was the first and only Plum I have seen. With a little work and some parts replacement, a nice bike for sure.

Thanks for all the input. Someone else grabbed it because I wasn't in a big hurry. I guess I kind of figured it sounds like a good bit of work and I've got a baby coming 1/21. I'll let someone else have some fun with this one.

My guess would be that the dropouts actually say Torpado. Their 'p' looked very much like an 'n' with a tail.

a while back, I asked about a Plum Vainqueur in CnV. Mine was a Moser or Basso in a very thin disguise. My understanding is that there are a lot of these relative to the size of the shop. Any particular model may be rare though, they are rebadged private label bikes. Sorta like Paris Sport in the U.S.
