Vintage Peugeot Road Bike
Hi
I bought this bike online at a bidding site and I really want to know what year it was made and model. I've been doing some research and it looked like it's built in 1987, P8 Avoriaz Road Bike but I can not be certain because the top bit of the frame doesn't have the usual Peugeot design/paint markings.
I would upload a photo but I wouldn't know how to.
Can anyone please help. Thank you

Post your pic to Photobucket and then post a link to it.

Still learning
Photobucket is not playing nice with OS X or IOS for the last couple of weeks.
You can look for a 2 digit number on the back of the crankset, beginning with 8_. That will confirm the most likely year or year-1 of production. Then reccheck the catalogs for that year.
You might look at the British catalogs too, the Provence model below appears to have the same rear derailleur, however your bike has chrome rims.

Other than the "safety" auxiliary brake levers on the bike, it should a very good ride as most Peugeots were, because of their good frame geometries. It does puzzle m though that Peugeot still saw it fit to install those less than effective second st of brake levers, so late into the 80's when most of the major manufacturers had already rejected them already.......
