peugeot Record De Mode ????
Hello all, I'm a real newbie, to this forum and to Peugeot bikes definitely. Looking for advice and expertise as to what I have on my hands here. I just purchased this bike in a whole house estate buy out and what I believe to be an vintage Peugeot bike. But I do not know a thing about this. I'd like to sell it, but am doing my due diligence first, before I list it.
Please ask any and all questions, as like I said I am dumb when it comes to these bikes. And thank you for any and all information that anyone gives me. I really do appreciate your time and efforts.
Heres some pictures, please see attached.
And thank you thank you thank you...........

Nice PX10 from probably 1972.
Wheels not stock... did you get the stock sewup wheels and tires... handlebars with it?
I'll take it!

All I received is everything you see with in the pics, and also what looks like stock rubber pedals and an ESGE kickstand.
Looking for the age and specifics and what it might be worth.

Hello VEGASMKB,
Trailangel is close, but you probably have a 60s-very early 70s PX10.
It looks to be in very nice condition.
The PX10 was Peugeots top of the line bike at that time.

Oddball will be by here and give you a good estimate.
Bike is in good shape over all, and almost complete.
Brooks saddle is nice, but looks like somebody turned the bike upside down and scratched the saddle.

The saddle would have been french-no? I have never seen a bolt in the bottom of the bb
Very nice condition/I agree between 400 and 500 beans. Please do not put the kickstand on it.

A prospective buyer will want to see the drop handlebars and know more about the wheelset with the bike.
The size appears to be about a 56cm. Paint and chrome in great shape and the bike has the desirable fancy Nervex lugs. I believe the correct saddle would be an Ideale 90, but that's a Brooks in good vintage condition. A buyer would need to invest in new tires, reinstall the original handlebars, and give the bike a comprehenisve overhauls. Assuming the wheelset has higher quality hubs and alloy clincher rims that are true.
Location affects value considerably. What city are you in? Not enough background to make a qualified guess.

Peugeot used both Ideale and Brooks Pro saddles on the PX10.
There was never a Peugeot Record de Mode or Record du Monde.

Thanks for all your knowledge, I am located Denver, Colorado. I do have extra brake or shift cables, maybe they went with the original handlebars?

I'm not sure how strong the demand for vintage bikes are in the Denver market, however there is no shortage of hipsters, college students from affluent households, outdoor lovers, and purple haze.
If you're skilled enough to reinstall the original handlebars and brake cables/housing and reshoot the photos, it would help with resale. A bike shop might charge you an hour to do it for you. Look through pages here for porn quality bike photos.
I would list it locally for $550, firm price, including all the extras.
You're not an established bike seller on ebay, so I would hesitate that you can get top price. But you can list on ebay for $750 Buy it now, including "free shipping." Denver to Boston via bikeflights.com is $53. You should be able to find a bike shop to box it up for $40.

I had a PX 10E once that was a 25 Inch Frame, and got $275 I think in Winter 2010. This one is a little nicer.
And yeah, some of them did have Brooks Saddles. Mine didn't. For $20 paid I ain't complainin.
