Bianchi Model help
Hows it goin. Browsing these forums for days without any luck trying to find out what model bianchi i have. thought i would finally ask for some help. picked this bike up about a year ago from some kid. he says that all parts are original on the bike, which is full dura ace. all stickers except bianchi sticker on downtube have been removed. here are a few pics. i forgot to take pics of serial number and dropouts, but drops are stamped with "bianchi," and serial number is "KS876775," which i am guessing makes it an 87. did any of the bianchi models from 87 come with full dura ace, or was this kid just yanking my chain? i looked up some old pics from the 80's and what seems to be different about my bike is that the lug on the headtube, (if looking at the bike from the front), comes to a point, like an arrow, one facing up and one down. forgot to take pics of headtube will try to upload them later. thanks for your help. cheers.

Hello Jahsun, I looked in catalogs and here is what I can tell you. here in the states, with a few exceptions, Bianchi used that decal style in '88 and '89. the color combination on that frame, celeste grey decal with blue line looks to me like a Sport SX frame from '89.
unfortunatly the design of the dropout indicates to me that this is not a Columbus frame from the era. also there was no 'off the shelf' dura ace bike listed in the '88 and '89 catalogs.

wow...thanks for the info bianchigirl. this bike has been really great to me so i just wanted to return the favor and do a little research on her so i can do an appropriate refurb. been biking for years now and despite getting saddle time on some newer bikes, this one seems to always put a grin on my face, and the funny thing is, its even way too small for me. 54cm frame and i'm pushin 6"1'. anywho, thanks again and cheers!

Fix it up and show us the results. Take your time and enjoy it. There is always a market out there for the Bianchi if you get tired of it...and fun to ride if you don't!
I might be interested if you decide to sell later!
