vintage Bottecchia: information desired.

I acquired a lovely lime green vintage Bottecchia 10 speed racer at of all places, a garage sale. My husband thought I was nuts to purchase this old junker. I promply informed him that it was clearly, a quality bike from the 60's or 70's. There is a placard on the front frame that looks like it could be from the 60's but I am no expert. Placard reads, "Bottecchia Teodor Carniellio & C.
There are black & white checker board decals on the frame & the word "special" as well as, large sticker like decals which read "Campione del mondo 1966"
The shifters are Campagnola, pedals are made in Germany & have reflectors (not sure they are original to the bike) The rims are made in Belgium by a company called W??mann.
Serial number appears to be #296144. Any feedback would be appreciated & fun to read.

The Bottechia "Special" was a low end model, imported for the bike boom in the 1970s. IIRC, it had Campy Valentino derailleurs, a steel cottered crank and 27" clincher wheels.
