Can't decide whether to pick up this Bianchi Strada
Spotted this Bianchi Strada at a thrift store. Price is cheap, but it would be to flip not ride, and with a bulging garage waiting for spring, it just wasn't that special. Made in Taiwan and low end Shimano components. Mismatched levers to boot. Thoughts?

I don't know how much the thrift wants for it, but from where I'm sitting, looks like an easy $100. Go get it , you can always make room for one more ! (N+1 rule)

That is an '88 with ChroMoly main triangle and HiTen stays/fork. Shimano SIS and ChangStar brakes. if it is super cheap and looks like it just needs a good cleaning and lube (maybe a bearing overhaul/regrease) it might bring a $100 to 125 as a flip. it does not look used or abouse enough to need much. original retail was about $260.

I have had a couple of those entry level Bianchi bicycles and cannot recommend them. They are heavy, sluggish and poorly made, in my opinion. That said, the one presented does look to be in very good and little used condition.
However, if the price is right, and right means less than a hundred dollars, then consider the purchase. Ensure that the bicycle is a good fit before you buy. Once purchased, though the ride will not be stellar, it will, none the less be rewarding and fun to ride.

Around here, good deals at thrift shops last less than one minute, seriously. Usually there is a buyer putting their hands on the bike as it is being brought out. The ones that last are either way over priced, or Xmart. Even the Xmart stuff typically goes in less than a day.

If the OP picks it up, I'd appreciate the serial number for my database. I'm low on Taiwanese Bianchi data.
