Rossin Road Bike - what is this worth?

Ok... Sooo what is this worth?? I want to buy it but don't want to get ripped off

It is a Rossin road bike ... Here's the specs:

- recent professional paint job by Marinoni (excuse my spelling)
- campagnolo dropouts
- Columbus frame
- gala ? Gold anodized brakes
- campagnolo front and rear derailers
- Ambrosio tubular wheels
- campy hubs

Well I just gave away a Rossin frame for $250 so I am thinking that bike is worth $500 to 600?

They are campy hubs... Not sure which ones...

I do like the frame... I'm just debating what a fair price is...

So far I'm hearing $500-700...

Any others to suggest??

Apparently it's a Rossin Record frame...

Are those brake levers original to the bike? They look uncomfortable, can you find hoods for them? I only suggest this because it may deter potential buyers.

I would say that the price range of $500 to $700 is about right, Toronto has a lot of flippers with ads up looking for nice bikes, is contacting one of them out of the equation?

Thanks! But you would never get a valid answer that way...

I'm going to go look at it tonight... I just don't know much about Rossin... I know exactly what bianchi, Miele, Cambio Rino, and several other brands are worth... Just not Rossin...

For example, its easy to generalize that any bianchi is a deal at $300... Because you may say Bianchi is a well known name... But that generalization is false... Many Bisnchi's are junk and not even worth $75...

I don't want to be suckered into paying high just because of the Rossin name... I want to make sure that this one is ACTUALLY worth that much...

As far as the brake levers they will be replaced (as well as the calipers) so its not a concern, but a good point I can make during the bargaining stage...

Data point: Sold very similar Rossin Record last summer for $999 on Ebay. I would say the one I sold was slightly more valuable than this one due to Campy brakes but same model and color and about the same size.

Recent professional paint job but the tires are flat, no hoods on the brake levers, sub-par photos, etc. Makes me wonder what other careless things were done with this bike. I'd definitely test ride it before buying it.

Yea.. Good point... I told the seller I would have to see it in person before I make a valid offer... Hopefully I will be able to see it tonight

What should I offer? I obviously want a deal but I don't want to be a lowballer and insult the seller...

Look for some Rossin pantographs ect... on the frame to make sure it's a Rossin, since it's a repaint.

I would offer $525 as a starting point, assuming everything is in decent shape.

It has the pantographs in the top of the forks, the rear seat stays, the rear brake bridge, and in the lug for the lower tube by the downtube shifters...

it also has an "R" shaped hole under the bottom bracket...

Sold!!!

ok... The seller wanted $800 originally... I got him down to $600...

Then I had second thoughts about the tubular wheels and said that I really didn't like tubular tires... I also said that I was probably going to change the seat and seat post... so he suggested keeping the wheels and seat / post and knocking off a little money...

Sooo... I agreed... back and foreth a bit... and I ended up getting it for $375...

I'm going to replace the brakes with Campy monoplaner Athena and Aero Campy levers... Also the crankset with a proper Nuvo Record one...

I'm just working on what wheels to put on it though... decisions decisions...

The paint is REALLY nice... Pics:
