Bianchi Premio
New to the forum, been creeping a long time but its time to get real about my cycling addiction and join a forum. I am commuting on a fixed gear and find that it lacks it places I want to excel. So, the search has begun for a decent road bike and being new.. I need some assistance.

I could not get a year pin pointed on this, late eighties? the gentleman was unsure of the size so I didn't ask about the components. Looks like a front chainring is missing or the whole crank has been changed?
Anyway. Price ideas and anything would be a great help to get me rolling and coasting. Thanks!

Hello paddypedalr welcome to the forums. That Premio is either a '88 or 89 and I agree the large chainwheel and the FD look to be missing. It looks like the RD is still there but I wonder if it is connected to the shifter. Also someone took the dropbars off and put flat bars on in sort of a hybrid/ghetto SS conversion.
It also does look tall maybe, it could be the 25" or the 61cm frme. If it were a complete and ready to ride Premio I would call the price fair but in present condition I would say try and get it under $200 if it fits and you can ride it away.

Yeah, I notice the obvious issues, and did talk to the seller (parting with it because cycling from class to class they sweat obscenely) Haha. They ar eprett stuck on the price and it appears to be way to large for me! I appreciate the info. Is this an Asian Bianchi? did the Premio ever have a hayday? and if I could could get it under 200$ whould it be worth a true conversion and flipping?

Yes the Premio is an Asian built bike. I am not sure what you mean by a heyday but it was always a good seller in its price range.
No I do not think there is any room in this at any price to flip it. Whether you want to turn it back into a road bike or go to a full SS/FG it just needs too much.
Also do you have the knowledge and tools to do the work? Plus big bikes are a hard sell anyway.

Please don't confuse ebay "asking" prices with "selling" prices. Many sellers never get their ask price. some are far from it. Value is determined once an item actually SELLS. Its easy enough to check SOLD prices.
