2004 Bianchi Vigorelli- Worth it?
Hello,
Im in contact with a seller for a 2004 bianchi vigorelli. I dont mind steel and dont really have a preference either way. Seller was asking 650, i talked him down to 400. What do you think? (id probably peel those nasty decals off, tho)
Should I keep looking for a newer bike? Theres also a 2011 Bianchi Campione in my size going for 500 but Id prefer not to have downtube shifters.
Thanks

It would've be gone before now in my region, unless that stem was scaring people off. I doubt you'll get thosed ecals off. They're probably under a clear coat.

For $400 - decent deal. Budget for a new stem.

its a 55cm (my size). These are photos that the seller has supplied. I most likely would want to return the stem to a more traditional setup.

No a Bianchi certainly is better, at least IMHO. I was thinking more along the lines of if you don't want to stand out in a crowd then buy something else. One should be proud of a Bianchi and not try to hide it.
If your reasoning for removing the decal is to protect it from theft while commuting then look for an older steel Hybrid to use for a commuter.

Peeling off the decals will also leave ugly scars in the clear coat, which will reduce the resale value along with the fact that it will be just another claimed Bianchi that will cause further identification headaches for C&V forum members in the future. Life on the forum would be so much easier if owners just left the decals intact. Bianchi owners in particular are notorious for removing decals.

You got an insanely good deal. I cannot believe he let that go for $400. Here in Los Angeles, it would have sold for $800+ EASILY. Steel bikes are the best. I am very jealous.
