Univega Viva Sport worth it or not?

Someone is selling a Univega Viva Sport for $60 and I'm wondering if this is a good deal or not. It's a 10 speed, has Suntour gears and cables, and Silstar crank. It needs a really good cleaning and new tires. According to the owner, the tubes and other parts are fine and bike is fully functional, but I haven't had a chance to go and take a look at it. Don't know how the gears and chain are or if there's any rust, and also don't know exactly what material the tube is made of, just says high tension steel. It looks to have been kept outdoors for a long time so I'll need to take it in for a tune up. Also I plan on using it to commute total of 2 miles everyday.

Well the viva supersport was about the lowest of the Japanese inports so complete in working order rough $60 is about it.

Keep looking. If you need to rely on an LBS to make that bike road ready, figure $175-$200, not including tires. It needs a full overhaul, not just a tune up.
