Raphael Geminiani

I can buy this Geminiani bike for a reasonable price and was wondering if anyone could give me some information about it. The pictures is all I have for the moment, but I thought it looked decent enough. I looked for prices but I cannot get any clear information. I have also read through the forum and I think that this model would be a low-end model.
So what I would like to know, do you think this bike is a reasonable ride? and would you judge it to be in good condition?

As the first smartass in line here, I can confirm that the item in the picture is indeed a bicycle.

Beyond that, I can only say that in general Geminiani bicycles were not so hot. Not junk, but nothing fancy, and generally worth a few hundred dollars in decent condition. There were a few high-end models which are quite nice and generally unappreciated, worth maybe $1000 with a more recognizable name on them, but probably $500 to $750 with the Gem name. I'm pretty sure the one in the picture isn't one of those anyway.

That photo doesn't show anything clearly enough to be able to evaluate it. The frame tubing could be anything from cheap high-tensile steel to nice chrome-moly. Likewise, the parts could be just about anything.

You'd think at least 50% of Craigslist ads would show the bike from the drive side, just by chance.

lol and yet 90% of the photos i see are always non-drive side. i wonder why that is? there has to be some type of cultural phemomenon/predisposition going on.

I think its because most people mount and dismount on the nondrive side. So when you push a bike or prop a bike up for a picture you are naturally on the non drive side. And for most sellers they don't even know what the drive side is. Or that the bike has a crank. They know it has "petals", and "breaks" and the gears need adjustment cause it hasnt been shifted since they bought it.

Haha, that could be an explanation indeed. I might just ask the seller if he/she could put a picture with the drive side up.

Sometimes you got to gamble. Buy it. Cranks look good, Simplex drivetrain (meh) No tubing transfer visible, someone upgraded it at some point. I am assuming it is cheap to own.
