Torelli Road Bike
I've been looking through CL and found this Torelli bike. I haven't been able to find much information on Torelli. I think they didn't really make their own frames and usually had other people make them. I heard that some Torelli's were built by Antonio Mondonico but besides that I don't know anything. Can anyone help me identify this bike? The pictures on CL show some campy components. It also mentions that the bike was bought from a professional racer. I've been in contact with the guy and he sent me some more pictures. The Serial # looks like J6ffc and there's also the number 13 on the other side. I'm not sure what that means. Thank you for taking a look.

Anyone have any information? Even if it's just information about Torelli or Antonio Mondonico in general? Thank you.

I'd guess that it is a mid-range model because there is no chrome anywhere on the frame and because I think I see a Columbus Cromor sticker on the frame----ask the seller what type of tubing the frame is made from. And Mirage is a low tier Campagnolo group. However, the $450 asking price isn't too bad since the bike and components appear to be in pretty good shape.
It has been listed for nearly a month now and winter is just about here, offer him $300 and see what happens.

Thanks for the reply. I've tried asking the seller but he doesn't seem to know anything else about the bike. Although I think it's a neat bike I'd like to know more about the bike before I make an offer. Does anyone else have any more information?

Torelli bikes enjoyed modest popularity in the late 90s. They received favorable press in Bicycle Guide. Bill MaGann (founder of Torelli) was something of a second-tier Grant Petersen. Generally, Torellis provide good value throughout their line. I bought a unpainted fork from Bill MaGann, and the workmanship and brazing was very nice. If Mondonico made any Torellis, I would guess it was on the high end of the line.
$350-375 would be about right. Agree with Jet on offering around $300. Wouldn't expect to get much out of this seller considering the reference to ebay prices. Depends on how much the person wants the bike gone.
