Nishiki Medalist
Looking for a rough valuation on a Nishiki Medalist.
Around a 1985
Tange 1
Mix of Suntour
Not original, saddle, seat post, wheelset.
Where did the Medalist fall in Nishiki hierarchy?
Thanks.

This thread claims they're mid-to-high end, relatively rare, and desirable.

He just gave me a bottom dollar price of $800.
I think he'll have it a while.

This one is priced way over original retail price, let alone fair market value. The seller appears to be as clueless about fair market value as he is about proper frame size. BTW, it is not a 1985 model. It appears to be a 1984.

Looks like the seller wants to keep the bike more or less permanently.

These where a very nice mid level Japanese bike so $250-300 is going to be about top dollar in most markets. I think the one pictured should be about $200 if it has no issues. I would be concerned about how high the stem and seat are set there's a chance the frame or fork may have been tweeked a bit from having stuff way over of the max recomended hight.
