Campy hub ID help?

Came across this set of Mavic tubulars today with Campy hubs and I know next to nothing about Campagnolo stuff.

Can you guys help ID them and possibly an estimated value as either a wheel set or just the hubs?

I just don't think I'd ride tubulars.

I would say they are just older Record. nice looking wheels... those Bark N Squeal rims had a reputation for squealing

With that logo? I don't know - I've seen oddball Campy hubs like these before, but don't recall if I got an ID ...

Motobecane had some bikes specified with hubs like these, they were listed as Nuovo Tipo. The quick release imaged is a Simplex, for whatever thats worth. I think one would have to pull the axle and look at the cones and cups to decide in this case.

I vote Tipo. And I like the cut outs on these better than the common Tipo circles. The last pair on ebay I saw with Campagnolo skewers sold for more than a comparable Record set... I would take the Record hubs instead. For circles I prefer the older 3 piece Gran Sport hubs, so stylish.

Hard to tell, but the finish quality doesn't strike me as being top-tier for Campagnolo, either.

The guy that had these did say they came off an old Motobecane and that they hadn't been used in a LONG time. The rear wheel does have the Campy skewer, the front is a Spidel.

Bark and squeal?

So anyone have a guess as to the value of these? I'm contemplating trying them out on the bike I'm building now for myself or putting them on E-bay, not sure yet.

Check the glue, and ride them, you might get hooked. Unfortunately the hubs will probably fetch as much or more than the wheels complete, the economics of shipping. Campagnolo "special order" stuff is often coveted by Japanese collectors.
