1959 Schwinn Traveler
Seller identifies serial number but not the model nor model year, but serial indicates model year 1959, and the Traveler is the only bike in the Schwinn lineup that matches this picture. Condition in photos looks passable. Needs tires. Worth $69? I'm guessing it is. I want to flip it, though.

Vintage Schwinn. ID number on left lower rear wheel of frame. Decode number C902482. In fair condition, needs new rear tire. All spokes intact. I have plenty of photos I can email on request. feel free to ask any questions.

Nice bike. Worth the $69, but not sure about the filpping. It needs tires (at least $30) and I have seen these sell from anywhere between $80 and $300 depending on condition and all other accessories. It looks to be in fair shape and all original, not mint. To the right buyer it could bring $$$. Probably not much help. Good luck.

Parts and work needed would make the margin pretty small for a flip. Condition issues cut out the collector market, so you would have to sell it as a rider.

Thank you for the well-considered replies. I had already arranged to see the bike at lunchtime today, found all the defects mentioned above and more -- wheels need truing, rust everywhere, one brake shoe missing -- so I offered $45, which was accepted. We got to talking, and I mentioned the Motor Muster classic car and bicycle event at Greenfield Village in Dearborn, and the seller said he showed his '71 Plymouth Barracuda there. I attended the event, as I do every year, so we had some pleasant conversation about that and my bike restorations, which in turn seemed to make him amenable to giving me a deal on the bike.
Thanks again for your opinions, I hope I didn't overspend. And yes, in this market (Detroit area), margins are pretty small for flipping, regardless of make and model and vintage.

Margins might be small, but from a hobby point of view, it should be fun to clean up.

I sold a 3 speed Taveler same year in similar rough condition recently for $50. I priced and figured what it would cost to fix up and for flipping purposes I was better off just selling the bike as is cheap and quick. Your just not going to get a profit on this bike flipping it.

You might do ok, but you might not make 50% profit. Here Spring is the hot time for bikes, you may need to sit on it until then for top dollar.
