Lotus elite 600

I like that era Japanese builds and that one looks to be middle to upper middle in lineup. Not tuned in to values on lotus but generally similar era Japanese bikes go 150-250 +- depending on condition, market ,etc

this one is cool too, 1987 money mag mention of elite 600, note quite a bit higher than trek 400 on original list.

This guy seems like a lotus nut, and he called it a fantastic price.

I'd concur with his expert opinion; grab it if it's still for sale.

I think in a hot market that would go for $250 or maybe $300, assuming it's in good shape.

Houston? Having lived there it is not bike friendly, insanely hot and exercise is low priority for many. Major buyer market on old steel, offer accordingly.

I think LA is slightly low, but not much. I think 325-350 in Philly.

That's an interesting Lotus model that pops up from time to time. It's a quality machine with some interesting vintage details and of-the-period parts.

My website needs an update, there was an Elite 600 made for 1988, but it's not as nice as the 1987 version. Although the 1988 bike is probably more rare as so far I've only seen one example.

I think as a user bike it's worth the asking price, the Mavic rims are nice. But, the missing original parts (saddle, stem, pedals, wheels and whatever else) pretty much destroy it's collector value, in my opinion.

Update: Just in case anyone is interested, here are some photos of an Elite 600 for 1988. Note the block style drop shadow decal style adopted across the line for that year and the unicrown fork. The color is also unusual for a Lotus. This bike looks very original, except possibly for the saddle.
