I like this bike! I found it on craigslist. The tig welded frame is Reynolds 853. The components are primarily 105 (rear derailleur is Ultegra). The fork is aluminum (not my preference). The frame is 21 lbs as pictured. I replaced the handlebars, tape, cables, water bottle holders, and shifters (original rear shifter was broken). My total investment is $240. I intend to keep this bike (at least until I find something better), but I am interested in its value. I've read some older posts, but I'm interested in hearing a current evaluation.

Also, can anyone tell me where this frame was made? I can't find any information about the manufacturer. (I've searched without luck and the frame doesn't say).

Thanks so much. This C&V forum is great!

This thread is pretty much all I know about these Circuits.

It seems like most of the time people pick these up for peanuts.

But an 853 bike with decent reviews and a relatively modern setup out of the box should be pulling in at least the upper $400s.

Or take a look at similar era Lemond bikes and whack off a percentage for apparent obscurity of these Schwinns.

great looking bike and only $240 nice deal? are you planning to flip this? if not what difference does the 'current' value make? you certainly would have snatched this up at $200 but would you have bought it at $300, $350? currently in your area I would say the value is about $250.

I intending to keep it, but I never want to invest more into a bike than what it is worth. When it comes time to sell, I don't want to lose money. I enjoy riding a bike for a time, and then I sell it when something better or similar comes along. Eventually I will sell it, but hopefully not anytime soon. I don't want to be a collector, but I like the experience of riding many different bikes. This bike will eventually finance a different bike, but for now, I am very excited. Thanks for your evaluation.
