Sekai 400 worth it?
Hi,
Found this bike on craigslist (link below):
https://sfbay.craigslist.org/sby/bik/2303418160.html
I'm a newcomer to bikes, so I don't really know about this bike. Is it worth it for $250?

Nice bike, lower end, in what appears to be good shape. Seems a tad high to me, by $50-100.

I agree it is a nice bike and maybe a tad over priced but in your area it might be a buy. does it fit?

A 52 may be a litttle small but I if I go take a look at it I will get a better fit. Maybe I can convince him to to bring it down to 200
Is sekai a good quality bike. One of the posts mentioned low end, should I look around for something better around that price?

Price is probably pretty close in a red hot market.
In my case I am willing to look harder, and further distances to get a bike. My last purchase was 50 miles away, the one before that was 160 miles, and I am going to pick one up that is 100 miles away (all one way miles). Pretty crazy to most folks. (Not quite as crazy as it sounds, I tie the travel in with other business).
That bike has many low end features: nutted rear axle, stem shifters, claw derailleur hanger, Suntour Honor derailleur, steel crankset. And where is the rear brake? Its really all about your budget, how hard you want to look (I don't blame you if you don't want to go crazy looking), etc.
Sakai is fine, just doesn't get the name recognition of several Japanese brands.
