'67 schwinn girls' bike value
hello. i am moving with my family down to alabama in the next month or so. we are all going through all of our stuff we have accumulated through the years and are deciding what to take. my mom is curious if her schwinn could be worth something decent enough for her to want to take it with her.
we don't know the model but a schwinn person might be able to tell from the pictures. she got it from dh holmes in new orleans in 1967. she didn't ride it too much and it's been hanging in my grandma's garage for almost 40 years now. i tried to get a decent enough photo. may not show but there is decent amount of pitting in the chrome and there is a crack in the seat that has been there since shortly after she got the bike. a bit of rust on the rear wheel. the basket isn't pictured but she has it up in the rafters of the garage. it is all original.

Still learning
The bike is in rough condition and as thus, not worth much. $20-$50

Nothing in that photo says Schwinn to me

Sorry to tell you that you don't have much in the way of value.
Pointy drop out in rear and chainring are Murray. Here's a link showing same on an identified Murray.

Yours is an entry level "girl's" bike "with decent amount of pitting." I'd be very happy to get $20 if it were mine.
If it is a family heirloom by all means clean/grease, and ride.
If not, you might want to donate it to a needy family.

I am 1000% sure that it is not a schwinn. If it were a schwinn, it would be worth 30 to 50 in that condition, and the model would be a fair-lady stingray. The tires or tyres indicate to me english origin but not anything particularly great. Amf, Ross, Columbia, huffy, Montgomery wards..... It's one of those. Also the shape of the ape hangers indicate mid 1960's, like 66, 67, 68. But they aren't schwinn either. Probably wald. Schwinn a had very nice chrome, loop/clamp sissy bars, distinctive crank, pedals, gooseneck, seat post clamps etc. the bike you have isn't worth the cost of tubes and tires. Dont burden anyone with it that is unknowing, scrap it and get a mc chicken sandwich!!!

hmm. not being a schwinn is strange to me. i do believe you. when i was zooming in on the photo i was noticing that there wasn't one place on it that said schwinn i could find and i thought that was strange already. for as along as i can remember it was always referred to as a schwinn. my grandparents both said it was a schwinn. my mom tried to remember what it was about that bike but it was expensive at the time like a hundred and there was something special about it. why it was actually kept. since it's up in the air and there is a fair amount of stuff underneath it i couldn't get close to it without digging. i didn't have time when i snapped the photo. i did forget to mention that my mom did paint over the chain guard at one point with gold paint. zooming in on the chain guard in the photo there is some writing underneath but i can't make it out. i'm going to be over there later in the week laying some tile and i'll have time to get up there and get down from the wires and take a closer look at it. i'm very curious about this bike and i hope that after all this time my grandparent's didn't lie to my mom or find a copy and made it look like a real schwinn. that sounds like them.

It appears to be a Murray Wildcat girl's model. I agree on a $25 or less valuation. Here's one in much nicer condition that was a no-sale at $76: Vintage Murray 20" Wildcat 1960's Girl Bike | eBay

Ignaz would be turning in his grave if you called that bike a Schwinn. Personally ( can't see or tell from pics if rust ) but I think the fenders front and rear would be worth $25-$30 on the auction site. But not if they are rusty. You almost never see the boys models for sale, ( ALMOST NEVER ) mostly because they were rough with them, but the girls Banana bikes come up all the time. Good Luck

Looks the guys who called it a Murray Wildcat are right. Same chain guard, same crank set, same rear drop outs.
