San Marco Rolls saddle repair
Hi all,
I recently purchased a nice San Marco Rolls saddle and noticed afterwards that the rivet heads were sheared off of the rear ROLLS logo plate. My initial thought was to look for a completely trashed Rolls saddle and remove the rivets to use as replacements; however, I don't know if that's feasible. My fear is that the logo plate will fall off while riding. I am open to suggestions.

Look at this place for decorative rivets. https://www.tandyleather.com/en/cate...orative-rivets
Or go to your local private pilot airport and see if the Mechanics have some 'A' hardness rivets (dead soft). 'AD' rivets can be used also but they are much harder than 'A' rivets.

or if you don't care that much about appearance, you could probably get by with aluminum "Pop" rivets, but be sure to get some with long enough grip range (maybe 0.5" or so).

I don't expect they are salvageable. I would see if so could locate gold or whatever color online and pick up a cheap hand held or air gun. They are good to have around. You'll find other things to use it on.

A friend is sending me some brass solid rivets that I'll try. I'll practice on something else before attempting to work on the Rolls.

The solid brass rivets were easy to install. Now I just have to buck the ends. It would take a keen eye to spot the repair.
