An English built Columbus Steel bike
Hi to you all out there. By definition not yet a vintage but certainly a Classic.
Here is my fully refurbished 50cm Steve Goff (Skelmersdale,West Lancashire,England).
The Flamboyant Blue jacket is curtesy of C&G Finishes,Liverpool.
I acquired the frame after it was listed on E'bay as Spares or Repair some 2yrs ago. It had suffered damage after being attacked with a file in an attempt to get a 10spd Campagnolo cassette with a 13T sprocket into the dropouts.
I had it Silver Soldered and a Braze-on removed after taking it to the Skelmersdale workshop where it was originally made.
The frame was then built-up using New & NOS parts and a few very carefully selected pre-owned items.
After having it repaired it now carries a Campagnolo 12-25 10spd Cassette and a 46:36:24 Triple Stronglight on 140mm cranks.

Pretty Bike.
Here's mine probably one of a kind. T.J.Quick (Tommy) worked in Holdsworth's custom shop till they shut down then he opened his own shop in South London.
Fillet Brazed Columbus SLX as it sits in the pic with clinchers on it weights 19.5 LBS. Just changed it out to Nisi Tubulars so I would think the weight has shrunk to close to 19 lbs. Mostly DA 7700 with 7800 Brakes and 7400 Hubs. This Bicycle is equal to or better than any Italian I have ever ridden. She is a Rocket.

Hi Wileyone. What is wrong with Flickr ?
A nice looking steed and clearly built without any excess weight to talk about.
Have you ever ridden an Italian built Benotto for any length of time/worthwhile distance ?

That is a beautiful bike, everything is classic in its appearance, yet it gets the job done with contemporary mechs. The blue really sparkles.
@Wileyone, the T.J. Quick ain't too shabby either, these English bespoke frame sets just speak to my sense of design and engineering.
I'm partial to Columbus tubing frame sets, my Medici is SL pipes.

Hi gcpmsame. I am interested in fact that you have been afflicted with Parkinson's Disease and seemingly have not allowed it to interrupt the pleasure of cycling . Is it early on-set or has it affected you at the predictable time of life ?
I must be honest - I was unfamiliar with the Medici brand but having had look into 'good-old' Google I see some really fine line frames in the very comprehensive gallery.
I currently have two bikes built with Columbus Tubing - the 50cm Steve Goff that was built using three different grades of tube - each for their individual attributes - hence the Designer Select font on the top-tube.
The other one is a genuine Italian built 52cm Benotto Modelo 850 that like the Steve Goff was rescued from the 'Bean Can' factory and lovingly refurbished.
In the last two years it has appeared in several guises since the original notion of riding a steel frame once again.
Firstly with a Campagnolo Nuovo Gran Sport rear dérailleur and a 7spd cassette with Campagnolo down-tube shifters, then quickly upgraded to an 8spd cassette and 8spd Centaur Ergopower levers.
The Benotto is now on a Campagnolo 8spd 13:15:17:19:21:23:25 Centaur system but on a Stronglight 46:8:;26 Triple on 140mm cranks.
The short cranks became necessary after total left knee replacement in November 2007 exacerbated by short limbs and limited limited bend at the knee.

@ACyclingRooster, cycling has been my primary means of mentally, and in many cases physically, managing Parkinson's Disease and its symptoms. I'm 60 now, I was initially diagnosed in Nov 2014. I see that you aren't quite to the number of posts to send and receive Personal Messages, if you want to discuss PD, and how it effects me and my cycling you can email me at whbDASHmdmbATattDOTnet and I will be fine with sharing my experience with you. I just don't want to take over your thread with a long drawn out post on something others aren't interested in. Just let me know what you wish to hear about regarding PD and cycling.
Back on track, that Benotto is fabulous looking, you have some very nice bikes. Right now the Medici is in the process of being completely reworked in order to treat the tubing with a rust preventative. Looking into the tubes tonight, I cannot pick up any visible rusting areas. Definitely none on the exterior, thankfully. Drillium Dude took good care of it while he owned it, now I want to keep up the high standard he has set.
Its been completely taken apart, everything else has been disassembled as far as it will go without undoing rivets or peened pins. Also, fresh like new Nuovo Record hubs are being installed as I build up the wheels in order to replace a knackered ~ofmega rear hub with bad races.
