Anyone ever take off a Maillard Course Aluminum freewheel from a hub without damage?

I recently snagged an NOS example for a very reasonable price, now I'm a bit hesitant to install it on the rear wheel of my weight weenie bike, fearing I could never get it off without any damage to its notches, as almost 100%of these FWs, have damaged notches (crushed notch faces, just from pressure excerpted by the removal tool prongs, not tool slippage) when the come up for sale as used.
Somebody out there must have figured out how to remove them harmlessly.... anyone?

Alternatively, maybe a new tool with 4 prongs can be made and a second pair of notches machined on to the freewheel body. That way the load on the notches will be cut in half so the aluminum will not crush down as easy??
