Freewheel compatibility

Does anyone know if Maillard Aris cogs would fit on a Regina freewheel? I'm trying to get a synchro system to work and I'm so close. Close enough where I am riding with the shifters using the indexing instead of friction. I'm thinking the Aris tooth profile would be a great thing to try. My hub is french thread and I already have the freewheel body. So I'm looking at just getting an Aris setup not worrying about threading to try it out.

The Aris 3-dog sprockets with the large-diameter hole (intended for the positions closest to the spokes) do fit my 6-speed Regina freewheel, which takes only 2 of these. These are held on by a threaded sprocket in the number 3 position, which does not match any of my Aris threaded sprockets. Next at number 4 is a smaller 3-dog sprocket which does not match the small-diameter Aris sprockets. Number 5 is threaded on, and it doesn't match Aris either. Number 6 is threaded onto Number 5, just like Aris. This #5-#6 interface is the same threading as with Aris, so you could use an Aris in the smallest, outside position but you would have to keep the threaded Regina #5.

So as far as getting the advantages of the Aris tooth profile for shifting to larger sprockets, you would be limited to changing the largest sprockets (2 in my case.) If, in addition, your smallest sprocket was worn out, you could replace that with an Aris as above.

If you have a source for 4-dog large Aris sprockets, you will need to grind off the fourth dog to fit the 3 notches of the Regina body. The Aris sprockets fit more tightly over the Regina body than they do over a Sachs (Aris) body, so while you have your grinding tool out, go lightly around the inside of the sprocket to enlarge the hole ever so slightly.
