The price was perfect (update on a free Peugeot)
I just wanted to give a big thanks to all the awesome help you guys gave me on this forum. The memory refresher of the post is here (because it's been so long). And as soon as I find some batteries for the camera, I'll post up some pictures of the Peugeot with it's new MATCHING orange grip tape.
Riding it's like riding a sports car, you have to reign it in way under what it's capable of just to stay safe.
And unfortunately for you guys, I'm quickly developing a collection of vintage parts and frames, so be prepared for more stupid questions heading your way!
Tolfan: You nailed the problem, thank you so much!
WilliamK1974: Sorry about you're location, dude. If you move to PDX I can almost guarantee we could find you a vintage lugged frame for free (or close to it). I just picked up Peugeot and Raleigh lugged frames for free two days ago ;-) heehee!

Good. Roughly a 1981-83 PFN10.
I'll list the evidence then you decide....
1981 catalogue lists a PFN10 with vitus 181 tubing. Same color and shade as yours with the same decal scheme
1982 catalogue does not list a PFN10. It has a PKN10 with Reynolds 531 tubing and the same decal scheme.
1982 French Catalogue lists a PFN10 with Vitus tubing and a full chrome fork.
1983 catalogue lists a PFN10 with Vitus 181 tubing and a full chrome fork. Same color but NOT the same shade with different decals.

Hey PDX, I just got back from visiting your town. I was in heaven. So many people riding bicycles! It was amazing. I currently live in Dallas, Tx (not very bike friendly) but plan on moving there in May at the latest. We need to hookup and hang out once I make it out there.

If it rides and handles like a PKN-10, and I see no reason why it wouldn't, it's a great bike.

The pictures, as promised:
Not much has changed, except for the setting and the grip tape...
...which now match the remarkable preserved decals.
Did I do this right? The little black do-hicky was hanging off one of the brake cables when I picked this bike up, and I decided that the only thing it could be for was to keep the cables together...but it really doesn't make that much of a difference. Any thoughts/insights would be appreciated.

I'd be happy to! What part of town are you moving to? If you have a choice, and you love biking, choose the EAST side of the river. The only real hill they've got over there is Mt. Tabor, that pays off at the top with a be-u-tiful view. But if you don't care, or you love hills and getting cozy with cars, then move to my neck of the woods, SW PDX (but it seriously sucks over here).

You can find a variety of little clips around for keeping your cables neet. If you like them use them if you don't than don't.
