The little black do-hicky was hanging off one of the brake cables when I picked this bike up, and I decided that the only thing it could be for was to keep the cables together...but it really doesn't make that much of a difference. You can find a variety of little clips around for keeping your cables neet. If you like them use them if you don't than don't.
