A few pretty pictures from Sunday and you forget I was just describing a miserable 117 mile ride in the rain in 45-55 degree temps on Saturday.

Short ride today, with some people who are just getting into the hobby. 20 miles from my house to downtown Louisville/Waterfront Park and back. Definitely a fun ride, planning on spending the next few weeknight scouting a few longer routes.

What length of brown housing do you need?...I might have some.

I was fortunate to have a long week-end to ride around the north end of Yosemite National Park including 30 miles or so up and over the pass to Hetch Hetchy resevoir.

16.8 on the tandem, taking a break from work. Mostly on the Minuteman Bike Path. Traffic was a bit frenetic but we survived. On the way home Sharon spotted a sign as Wilson Farm and decided we had to buy some fresh strawberries. She disappeared into the shop and came out 10 minutes later with berries, plums, apricots, zucchini. Fortunately we always have space in the panniers...

I went for a ride in the woods after dinner tonight

Had a blast today at the Nature Valley Grand Prix.
This is an annual stop on the summer racing circuit and we went to the time trials and the St.Paul crits today. Incredible family fun and great vintage bike viewing in the crowd. Here are a few! http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7222/7...5f29cc8e_o.jpg http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8006/7...9466fef1_o.jpg http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8168/7...d9c566f7_o.jpg http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7230/7...4c71b2c4_o.jpg http://farm6.staticflickr.com/5275/7...cfc868e3_o.jpg and my favorite, a Chris Kvale. http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7239/7...5fe589f6_o.jpg Please access the rest if you'd like through my signature. Great Ducatis as well. Can't wait till the races in Uptown Mpls. and Stillwater. Let's hope for some decent weather. These racers and promoters deserve it. PS Folks gave me some nice comments about my Tommasini today. Lots of vintage bike nuts, that's for sure. |

My daughter and I rode down to watch the races. Great fun! Saw the Ciocc and the tandem. The tandem looked like it was built up from a couple of old Raleigh Competitions or Internationals. I had to check that out for a good many minutes. Enjoyed both the women and men races.
Sorry I missed you. We had a blast. |

Nope. I rode my Centurion Ironman 'Miami Vice' and my daughter rode her celeste Bianchi Veloce.
Saw you guys then. Very cool bikes you have there. Check my signature. I think I have some nice shots of your bikes, well at least yours for sure. |
Ran a bunch of errands... needed a few small tools for the shop and a few for my touring kit and after a day of working on my touring bike and puttering in the shop my daughter and I went to Mocktails on the bridge where I did free bike checks for people.
Took the newly re-fitted touring bike... http://www.ravingbikefiend.com/bikep...ehalfstep2.JPG My daughter had a blast bombing around on my friend's Catrike... http://www.ravingbikefiend.com/bikep...danitrike3.JPG |

Did 22 miles tonight.
On the edge of town http://fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net/...75149813_n.jpg Waitin' for the train http://sphotos.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-...94521725_n.jpg http://fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net/...76500589_n.jpg I got a light for my wife's bike. I took it for a shakedown cruise tonight. It's a MiNewt Mini.150. http://fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net/...11476703_n.jpg Me and my shadow. http://fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net/...37665793_n.jpg |
I was all set to ride the Masi to work today (after the train ride). I drove to within sight of the train station and the car's transmission went BANG! Thump! Thump! Thump! and the car stopped going. Spent most of the day digging up a replacement vehicle. So I got to ride the Bianchi over to the dearlership to take delivery on another car, two tens of thousands of dollars poorer.

I went out with a friend from Madison to the tunnel south of Belleville, WI. The tunnel is amazing and I recommend it to everyone in the area -- it's worth the drive from Chicago, IMO.
One needs headlights in the tunnel because it's so dark -- there's a bend in the middle, so at one end you can't see any light from the other end. http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=256358 http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=256269 |
Please do not come to Hong Kong yesterday to a lot of troops ready to 7/1/2012 war
|
This tunnel must be very fun and excitement
