Colnago Ti frame and fork, 56cm, $790
MSRP was 1300+, he had it for $940, and I almost bought it.
Then I bought 2 others, so I'm out of the running.
New, never built.

It looks just like the same bike I sold last spring for $75. I hope he is either very lucky or very patient.

Think I know but do I...what is this wonderful rust collector?

The other bike they posted with MAKE OFFER is a womens JC HIGGINS circa 50s and then they have this multicolored gem with a flared rear rack, twin top bars and a hanging tank with a rocket on it.

Thought it could be a Western Flyer or?
I've seen Rollfast with a frame like that, maybe the chainguard is a Snyder/Hawthorne... If I could afford to make the offer I would as I like it a lot.

https://boise.craigslist.org/bik/1513672665.html

EDIT: He said that if I could find a buyer for the Higgins I could have the rocket bike...he doesn't have much invested so he said that would work. It's a relisting too! This isn't a really fancy J. C. Higgins but everything is original and intact except for part of the left spring being gone and is the economy so tight that a J. C. Higgins, even spraypainted sits around?

EDIT DOS: MY FRIEND SAYS IT'S A VERY RUSTY ROSS. He might consider it. I just wanted to know what it was basically. The rear rack and twin top bars are awesome. It would be fun to work on and give somebody.

EDIT TRES: I bought the Ross frame for $20, it's going to be a gift or transportation aide someday. Of course, watch for it in Alt. Bike. Culture possibly soon.

Yeah. In the early 80s Schwinn and Ross had them. It was supposed to help you shift easier.

That's the Shimano "Front Freewheel System", one of Shimano's early attempts at indexed shifting. The system included the crankset with the freewheel mechanism in the bottom bracket, a gear cluster on the rear wheel with a friction clutch instead of a ratchet, and a "Positron" indexed rear derailleur. It was intended for low end models, was very heavy and never caught on strongly, possibly because it was mostly incompatible with other drivetrain components.

Seems reasonable. Although the Northroad bars with the downtube shifters is an unusual configuration - I don't think it would scare off
most buyers. Heck I had buyers come and not even know the bike I was selling had DT shifters. Selling between Christmas in New Years
in Chicago can't be a great plan. It is dark and cold.

And it's a 26" frame. Most of the parts might be salvageable, but I see the rear wheel is solid-axle (nutted).

Yeah, I think that started at about $220 a month or so ago. I'm tempted. Its a 310, and in nice condition. Of course I just blew $120 on a couple Xbox games for the kids, and I'm working 20 hrs a week, and bills stacking up, etc.

Dura Ace 7spd (Partial Group) - $225 (Somerville)

Date: 2009-12-18, 5:20PM EST
Reply to: sale-v5grm-1516352769@craigslist.org [Errors when replying to ads?]

Up for sale is a used but in good shape 7spd Dura Ace (partial) group from the early 90s. These parts came off of my Peter Mooney last month and I would still be using had my wife not purchased me a new replacement group.

Cranks (FC-7400) -cosmetically in good shape - functionally the chainrings (39, 52) still have good life left. 170 length. Comes with dust caps.
Rear Derail (RD-7401) - Cosmetically and functionally in great shape.
Front Derail (FD-7410) - Cosmetically in good condition and functionaly in great shape. 1 1/4" clamp diameter.
Bottom Bracket (BB-7400) - Cosmetically and functionally in good condition. When removed it a couple of weeks ago it was still spun very smooth. 1.37 x24T
Shifters 7spd down tube (SH-7401) - Cosmetically in okay condition. The indexing portion of the rear shifter does not function properly however, it does work just fine in friction mode.
Cassette NONE DURA ACE (HG-70) - This cassette was replaced about 500 miles ago so it's in excellent condition. 7spd Dura Ace can be found on Ebay for $35 - $50. however, this cass. works just fine.
Chain (HG-Narrow) - This chain was replaced along with the cassette and also has about 500 miles on it.
Brakes (BR-7400) - Cosmetically and functionally near new condition.
Brake Levers (BL-7401) - Cosmetically in good condition, one of the levers has some very minor scratches and both of the hoods show minor cracking however, still very presentable and perfectly functional.

Thanks,

JC

Vintage 16" Bridgestone MB-1, 1992 - $395 (Inman Square, or deliver)

Date: 2009-12-18, 2:27PM EST
Reply to: sale-j6mea-1516080782@craigslist.org [Errors when replying to ads?]

Hi, I am selling a 1992 vintage Bridgestone MB-1 mountain bike. this was the top of the line back then, and sold for over $1200. It has a 16" frame, (from the center of the crank to the top tube). A friend ended up with it as payment for a job, and he gave it to me. It has hardly ever been riden, as its really too small for me, so I use my 18" MB-2!

Drop me a line with any offer, and let me know your interest! this is a classic butted frame very strong for its light weight, less than 5lbs, very springy steel bike, with NO shocks!

thanks !
