Thanks Neal - doubt if the red one's still there! Really helpful confirmation of my suspicions concerning my own frame. Much obliged!

Where I live, most of the C&V that's out and about are lower level French and Japanese bikes that have been given the standard-issue budget fixie treatment. Did a triple take when I passed a kid on vintage steel bike (either no decals or very subtle ones) with Campy delta brakes.

I don't know about classic but this hunk is vintage. I saw this Santropez outside my local Giant grocery store this morning.

Spotted this crusty 'Tour du Quebec" on a ride to the beach this morning. The Canadians always bring cool bikes with them when they come down for the winter. The frame looks pretty low end, but it has a cool Deore tricolor group.

I think something is seriously wrong with that toptube. Follow the line of rear section of the toptube to the section near the headtube...or should I say try. The rear looks fine but the section near the headtube is angled down. Hence the reason for the pads to cover up a hack job on making it usable? The fork also looks jacked up also. Must of had one heck of a fender bender with it. Poor thing.

Thought this might be another Glider (not many Raleigh-branded three speeds around here) but apparently it's an Iverson. Anybody heard of it?

Funny how when you start learning about certain things, you start seeing them everywhere. I've been thinking about getting a mixte and then I saw this sad thing:

I found this old Raleigh lying on its side alongside a trail in the woods as a friend and I were riding past. 'Twas a mystery.

It was missing a couple small bits, and the rack was messed up, but it didn't seem too bad apart from that. My friend was tempted to take it back with him, but we were pretty far out on the trail and had no idea if the owner might have been somewhere nearby (we didn't see anyone around, but you never know).

This one may not qualify for actually being in the wild, but I was visiting a buddy at the shop where he works yesterday and saw this old Bridgestone. Downtube label says Sirius and seat tube label says CB-2. Teensy sticker with "Bridgestone" is the only hint to the maker but who else would do the CB series?

Not my picture, but if it is from nearby Somerville. It has been a hard winter (if only for 6 weeks) in Boston. Have no idea how old - perhaps it is old as it looks like fixie.
