I'll take Forumula 1 Red in XL (1 jersey). If we get 40 I'll take a logo.

That's short sleeve, right? He's out of red long-sleeve in XL (update #1), and won't be restocking soon.

Here's my draft of an order sheet, in MS Word format, that can be filled out and emailed to me.

I'm thinking within 3 days of when I make the order form available in Word format.

Sorry, but after reading the e-mail exchange and responses from Chad, I'm not interested in buying from him.

Here's my take on the email exchange (after reading the one linked to, and the thread on fixedgeargallery):

A guy asks for three free samples. (By the way, it turns out he already owned an OCW jersey, so exactly why he wanted a further three samples is a little beyond me - anything for free, huh?).

Then he asked for the name and address of the manufacturer.

Chad interpreted this as the guy trying to start his own business / undercut / etc (as would I also have thought!) and made a silly response (which I hope I wouldn't have!)

The guy gets all uppity and starts crying to internet forums even though he hasn't been wronged in any way. He has not lost money or been abused in any real manner at all. He just had to read a slightly rude email from someone who thought he was trying to unndermine them.

Well, that's my $0.02

I know nothing of the company Oregon Cycle Wear. There was, however, some discussion of the company on Bike List a few days ago. Some of the members had negative things to say about product quality. Bike Forum members might find it worthwhile to log onto Bikelist.org and check the Internet Bob and Classic Rendezvous archives for the past few days to evaluate the negative comments.

I have never owned a wool jersey before....are they appropriate for warm weather, I imagine they are since they come in short sleeves. I need to quit waffling and pick a style all ready. Charles, is that the downloadable version of your order form or is that to come later?

From my dealings with Chad (the owner) so far, he's a really cool guy. His online order form was kind of confusing to me, so I just emailed him what I wanted. He responds to emails quickly, communicates well, and has been a pleasure to work with. My jersey should be shipped out by the end of this wee, and I should have it mid next week.

I woud be interested in a SS blue and a SS cream in medium if/when we hit 40. Can we do group shipping if we live in the same area (ie. NYC)?

I'd be very interested in the hearing how the full zip fits...seems like a nice option for some 'air conditioning' on days with vast temperature variations, but don't know how the zipper fits/feels/works...

There's no cream color -- green, red, blue, black.
If you don't mind picking up on the UWS or in Chelsea, or meeting me somewhere in Manhattan that's convenient for both of us, then shipping cost from me to you is free.

I've just worn my OCW long sleeve jersey almost daily through an Australian summer, a couple days were 100 farenheit. The fact that they don't smell too bad from sweat (I've washed mine three or four times in 8 months!) makes them good for summer in my opinion. YMMV.

I anyone's interested, here's Grant Petersen's take on wool, which includes some good tips for taking care of it:

UPDATE #6: 18 Feb, 9 PM EST

Our fellow cyclists in Australia are helping out by going in with us, to the tune of 4-6 jerseys. Thanks to Wotan! That puts us at 35 fairly certain, plus 8 maybes. I'm going to call Chad at OCW tomorrow and get a final reading on what he's out of, and how soon he expects to have some of those restocked.

If the outage situation doesn't look too bad, then I will publish the order form, and ask for payment at the 40+ discount rate (if outlook is disappointing, I'll ask for payment at under-40 rate). If I do that, then buyers have to be aware that we still might fail to get that 40+ discount. The published order form will have places for 2nd/3rd choices for style/color in case of outage, and also a place to indicate whether you will, or will not, commit to buy if the discount fails to be at the 40+ rate. To place an order, you will have to do two things: send me the order form by email, and send Paypal remittance, in the correct amount for what you're ordering.

If we fail to get the 40+ rate, then I'll refund the payments for those who decided against participating at a higher cost -- of course you'll be charged the 3% for receiving payment on that; can't do anything about that. And I'll then have to notify the people who are still “in” what additional they need to send before I can cut the order.

UPDATE #7, 18 Feb 11PM EST
Ah, um, I'm a bit of a dufus -- I hadn't realized two things:

1) There are actually five colors available for the SS and LS jerseys: green, red (with 2-tone stripe), blue, black, and black w/red (also 2-tone stripe) -- I had omitted the black w/red
I will revise the order form to reflect that clearly.

2) Outages appear to be indicated on the Order page under size selections; currently
SS - none indicated
LS - M, black out L, black, red, and black w/red out XL, black and black w/red XXL, black w/red out
Full-zip trainer - S, black w/red out

I apologize for any confusion.

ORDER JERSEYS AND PAY, PLEASE
I'm accepting orders now, with the expectation that we will have 40+ to get a better discount. To order, download the form here
https://home.earthlink.net/~wahlcf/jersey-order.doc
(if you don't have MS Word, you can download both an RTF version without all the graphics, and a PDF of the Word form, for information
https://home.earthlink.net/~wahlcf/jersey-order.rtf
https://home.earthlink.net/~wahlcf/jersey-order.pdf

Fill out either form and email it to me at wahlcf@earthlink.net. Then pay the total of jersey(s), shipping, optional logotype, via Paypal to the same email address. If you make payment to me as “Personal/Payment owed” then I think that I won't be charged by them to receive the funds; if I am charged, you owe an additional 3% of the payment for that.

Obviously, the sooner everyone gets forms and payment to me, the sooner I can make the order.
I'd like to set a deadline of anytime after Wednesday 24 Feb. that we have 40+ orders, and will post a “last call.“

There's a list of the jerseys that OCW's site says are out (by size) on the 2nd page of the order form. You can also check this out yourself by going to their website, selecting a style and then looking at the size drop-down.
