First shakedown ride on my '86 Sprint (since about '94)
Took My old Schwinn out for a quick 15 minute shakedown ride tonight. It was the first time I had actually ridden this bike since I was around 17! I repainted the wheels and am in the process of polishing up the frame and all the bright-work. Put on a "noseless" Saddle and a set of cruiser bars. I'll also be replacing all of the cables and the crusty hardware as I go. My ride pointed out a few things that need to be addressed: 1. I am way more out of shape than I thought! 2. my front wheel needs to be trued (not bad but noticeable) 3. My seat needs to be moved back 2 or 3 inches, I guess I'll need a "bent" seatpost for this (where would I get one of these?). Here are a few pics I snapped before I put my brakes and kickstand on.

In reference to my extra-wide "old guy" seat? I had a nasty incident (right around the time I stopped riding...not coincidentally) that left me with a broken tailbone and some long term muscle problems so I am relegated to "comfort seats" and upright bars for all two-wheeled activities both motorized and non-motorized...
