Fuji Allegro vs. Fuji Absolute
Hey guys, I've been searching the forums but it's hard to find the answer I'm looking for.
I've just started helping out at our brand new bike co-op (union) and I saw a super cool looking frame that would be a great candidate for a fixie (or not).
It's this: https://classicfuji.com/Absolute_1989_Page.htm
A 1989 Fuju Absolute, featuring the Fuji Chromoly tubing (Whatever that is).
I already own a stock 1986 Fuji Allegro with the triple butted VALite tubing (whatever that is). (https://classicfuji.com/Allegro&Alleg..._1986_Page.htm)
Basically, all I want to know is the differences in the tubing, is one better than the other, or just different?
Also what are the sizes of the handlebars on these things.
Thanks a ton!

Chromoly is generally thought of as better tubing than Valite. IMO, I find some characteristics of Valite to be better.
For example, I have an 1983 Fuji Opus III and a 1985 Fuji Team. Both are chromoly for the main tubing. The Opus is all chromoly, while the Team has a Valite fork and Valite stays. The Opus is a higher end bike, but I prefer the ride of the Team.
If it were me, I would keep the bike that you already have.
If you are interested in Valite, try searching the forums. There are a lot of threads that talk about it.

My Allegro was a lame duck, though to be fair I was comparing it to a much superior frame. Certainly its a step up from bottom of the barrel, but nothing to write home about. However, comes with forged, brand name fork ends and dropouts. When I removed the fork the steer-tube was marked, either as valite or tange I dont remember. The absolute has fewer features. Go with the allegro.

Your Allegro was a lame duck or your Absolute?
Are the frames much different from one another? To be honest, we just sorta liked the looks of the purple one better. Not to mentioned we learned all about how to take apart the separate components, so it's a bit of a learning experience as well.
