Good luck. It's expensive indeed... I'm waitlisted at San Diego right now, so will see where it goes. I've been selling off a lot of my bikes and parts knowing well that I won't have much time to ride them in the foreseeable future.

Those are some tasty Merckx's. How much did those jobs cost, if I may ask?

Forgot about this thread...and forgot about life really since I started working. I ended up post-poning applying to medical school and just did this past cycle.
But the unfortunate paint chip was from a spill stupidly trying to pop up a curb... I ended up going over my handle bars. A rock ended up chipping the paint. It was a terrible evening when I spotted it back at my apartment after the commute. Thankfully though, it was only a chip(not a dent). I tried touching it up with some color similar nail polish but it ended up looking crappy-hence photo. I just wrapped it good with black electrical tape to prevent from any moisture from getting in.
Since I last posted, It has received a Selle Italia perforated turbo, new brake levers, DA aero seat post, and new skin wall (blanking on the brand) tires.
I've decided to keep it and it's being ridden as much as possible as time allows.
Here is a picture of it today. Going on the local bike trail today.
In regards to pricing, its best if you contact Allan about restoration. I'm sure it depends on a case by case basis.

Do you still have this bike today? I know this is a old thread, but was looking up Allan Want on the interweb and found this. I have my Mondonico on the way to him. I really like the color scheme you chose.
Hey All,
I just got my Eddy Merckx Corsa done by Allan Wanta and was mesmerized by the finished product. I thought you all would be interested in this as it is a 89' Corsa.

I highly recommend Al, he was a pleasure to work with. Although it may take a while for him to finish the frame, the wait was worth it (~3months).
