How to Use Raleigh Sports Frame Pump?
Vintage bike newbie here. I just acquired a '69 Raleigh Ladies Sport, and I was wondering how to use the frame pump. I asked the mechanic at my LBS and he didn't seem to know.
Maybe mine has a missing part? The short end has what seems to be an adapter for my valve, but the air is coming out of the long end, the hole of which is too small to fit on the valve.
What am I missing?
(Also, cool side note, the previous owner scratched their name into the pump. I've named my bike after them.

Pull the adaptor(hose) out of the handle and screw it into the long end of the pump. Attach the hose to the valve on the tube and pump about 25 pumps. Wipe sweat out of eyes. Unscrew pump from tube. Unscrew hose from pump and return to handle. Place pump back on frame and reach for floor pump. Vow never to use Raleigh pump again.

LOL pump is only for cool C and V looks. Pump will get just enough air in tire to get you home. Great for a personal weapon though. Make sure the leather cup plunger inside pump is not dried and cracked. If so, go directly to LBS and get a Topeak Master Blaster, mine rocks.

See, I tried to unscrew/pull the hose out, but it doesn't want to. It turns but refuses to come out no matter how much I pull. Maybe its hopeless? I just thought it would be handy for emergencies and don't have the cash to get a more efficient pump.

Okay, If I remember correctly, I had to shove a small screwdriver under the adaptor and pry around it to get the hose out of my pump when I got it. The hose has probably dry-rotted enough for the retainer to separate from the hose, making it a PITA to get the hose out. Which means the hose is toast. On the bright side, hoses are still available.
