I've done that ride before, but from Oldsmar-ish to the Pier and back..okay not the SAME ride, but I did it on a C+V! I'm itching to go for a ride again soon, if you wanna C+v ride it!

No EASY ride from Oldsmar to The Pier...LOTS of busy roads between. Pinellas is trying to become more bike friendly, but connections between paths and lanes are weak at best. The North/South Pinellas trail is pretty good, but just getting to it his a trek! We get out on our C & V as often as we can. If I'm riding solo, I often take my 2000 Felt, but when out with my son, I take the Vintage iron, either my 79 LeTour or 88 Bridgestone, JUST to make it fair, since he is on the 86 Team Fuji. Can't have him whining about me being faster JUST because I'm on a newer bike! ;-)

Yeah, I'm in South Tampa, so I don't even know what bike lanes are. I did 62 on the pinellas trail on Thanksgiving, it was a bear. I want to do another 30-40 soon, I'm riding more 10 mile rides lately.

If you get over here again, give me a shout out, a joint C & V ride would be fun! There is always the Bayshore ride over in Tampa, but often so crowded with walkers, joggers, and dogs, it would NOT be fun to ride on. Just love it when dog owners with LONG leashes block entire trails and scowl at you for DARING to try to get past them!

There is now a bike lane the runs a large portion of bayshore, but it dead ends at funny places, so I generally stay off..also it's only 8 miles start to finish, and bumpy as heck. There is a nice 10 mile loop that I do through Town..but 10 miles is meh. There was talk about a C+V ride on Tampa, so I guess I should get on it.

^ Well done! Nice carmelization on those peppers and shrooms.

Here's some French titanium goodness I cleaned up this weekend. Everything pictured weighs less than 14 ounces and dates to 1977.

Ah, the difference a week makes. Two photos, same spot, one major difference. One week ago:

Today:

Yep, it's that wonderful whitewater. It was a little high last week, bankfull today. I need to run this river after a good rain. There's some 2-3 foot standing waves downstream from the bridge, and a nice chain of rapids above it. Not a huge technical challenge, but a blast to run. Once it warms up a bit more, it's off to the James to dial in my roll again.
