try the 7.2% birra moretti la rossa double malt. it's almost as moving as french existentialism.
I'll try that next time I'm there. Usually I'm to much embroiled in litres of Gallo Nero chianti's, Nero d'Avola Sicilian red etc. to be caring for beer. Trivial Sartre fact: La Nausée starts with a biking scene .

Hmmm. I had a Moser AX, or maybe TK1, can't remember. In any case, it was a really nice bike and handled well. Deda tubing, fillet brazed goodness.

For whatever reason, the font should have been one that has a serif and in all caps, first time I have ever modified a font in a response, and the last.

The original poster was asking about a vintage Italian frame, so no seance required.

Their high-end model of the mid-to-late 80s (available in matte black/white/chrome and red/white/chrome) was about as good as any of the other Italians, workmanship-wise. That is to say, they were very attractive, with some effort put into shaping the lugs, and cleanly brazed. Paint and chrome looked good when new, unless you looked really closely, but as was typical for Italian bikes from that era, the finishes tended not to be very tough, and most of the original bikes I have seen could use a repaint.

Internally the frames were really rough; much worse than average. A good shop would always clean them up before assembling, but who knows if the one you get was assembled by a "good shop".

Angles were somewhat steeper than usual, with 74 and - on taller frames - 75 being common. This makes for a ride that is either responsive or twitchy, depending on the preferences of the person doing the describing.

All of the other Bottechias I have seen were second quality at best and should come in well below your budget, but don't offer anything exceptional. I have not yet seen every Bottechia ever made, of course...

pretty sure Cary Grant was gay, but if that's what you are going with, it's all fine by me. NTTAWWT

Seinfeld reference aside, I'm not so sure. Wouldn't bother me in the least if I "only" attracted women to the extent Carey Grant did. But interestingly, his daughter recently wrote a memoir of her father where she seemed a bit befuddled by the "gay" rumors surrounding her dad, without being the least bit defensive about them. So I'm not at all sure why you're "pretty sure." But whatever. In any case, the guy quit Hollywood specifically to be a better father to his daughter, which hopefully we can all admire, regardless of our sexual orientation.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but pretty much all of the bikes mentioned in this thread demand a premium. How and why the OP wants to spend their money is their business.

All light hearted. To be truthful, I'm more interested in my grandchildren than bikes these days, anyway.

In any case, I'd choose more of a Humphrey Bogart/Lauren Bacall reference. You know how to whistle, don't you?

Yes, everything that is remotely connected to Italy is twice as expensive. Rule no.1 of C&V.

Italy has beautiful wimenz, no doubt, but the coolest living cyclist has to be Cipollini, just because.

Him sponsoring the Italian women's team is almost beyond the Pale.
