Another "name that frame game"

I thought it would be fun to post some pics of thisfreshly painted frame and see if anyone can guess what it is.

I'll start off with a shot of the whole thing.

Thanks, I like the color too since I picked it

It's not a Rivendell, I doubt I could fit even 28mm tires on it.

The Riv. comment was a yoke.

OS Paramount? Some generic Eye-Tie racin' frame? You gotta give us either close-ups, a fork photo., or both. It looks pretty generic, so far.

Well, its at least late 70s with all the braze ons it has. It looks like the top tube might have internal cable routing.

Yes, at least '78 and probably later given the 2 pair of WB bosses plus apparent internal cable in TT. Head lugs and BB shell look unusual and unfamiliar (scalloped). I can't be sure if the tubing is "normal": could be oversized or ovalized but very hard to guess anything with just this one crummy pic.

OS Paramount?

We have a winner!

its a Japanamount - Panasonic-built 1992 Paramount PDG series 5 OS frame. It had a really ugly paint job on it when I found it but for $50 how could I go wrong? I had it painted in a color reminiscent of a 70s Schwinn color. I'm going to line the lugs with white and use P-series decals on it.

Anybody got a Paramount headbadge?

That was the first thing that stood out (OS top tube, not a 'skinny' one). Then, if you look at the overall features, it looks, I dunno, very OS Paramount-ish. Not sure why, maybe the dropouts plus the lugs and the pump nib made me think Waterford-ish, but that was my first thought, so like on standardized tests, I guess it's best to go with your first guess.

Are you sure you want white outlining on the lug shorelines? How about gold? Green-and-gold has a nice ring to it...??

Would you be able to tell by measuring to see if the TT is 1" and DT is 1-1/8" or if it's larger or no? I've had two Panamounts this year that both had OS tubing. One was a PDG3 that I picked up to flip and the other I kept for awhile and then sold to fund my Colnago build. The Series PDG(no number model) that I kept for awhile was nice and had the red/white/blue color scheme but had killer toe overlap since it was a 49cm frame. The lugs have a slight Nervex look to them I always thought. I'd take another one if it came my way again.

Yeah I like the lugs too - I've been looking for an 80s Japanese steel frame for a while and when I saw the lugs on this one i was sold. It was in way rough condition, I had to sandblast some rust-pitted spots on the top tube, and fill them and a bunch of small dents with silver braze. If I had to pay full price for the paint job I would never have wasted time on it but i got a 'bro deal'.

I might do gold lining - the reason I thought white was because the decal set I want to use is white. But I suppose i could have those done in gold too.

I just called Waterford to see if they have the 'disneyland' style decals.
