Campagnolics anonymous - impulse MTB buy (stheno rims)

This stuff is getting out of hand. I just won these NOS Stheno rims for a surprisingly low bid on Marktplaats: even though I didn't have a MTB at the time of buying! Just for the campy sticker!

Luckily, fate has handed me two MTB's in the past two weeks: the univega that I've shown before and a Batavus Nitro in fire engine red that I used as a commuter a few months back. I though it was stolen, but found it in the corner of the HUGE bike parking in front of the railway station here.

Both are equipped with the horrible Shimano Alivio group, so I guess it is about time to start hunting for more Campy MTB parts. eBay prices are insane though, so I probably have to wait a long time for good deals like I got on the rims.

Nice find. when I was looking to upgrade my MTB wheels I found some nice campi rims and ended up with a spare pair.

Unfortunatel I do not think we will ever see decent prices for Campi MTB stuff.

Nope. I've read on the campy-only site that some parts like the RD from the road sets can be used off road, but can't find much more on google... are there people here who run campy road stuff in the rough stuff?

I'd probably just run a long cage campy derailleur. Their available in most models but I'd probably just get like a Veloce or somewhere along those lines. Could do the Racing Triple group on it and be fine.

A few years ago I was lucky and got a Record OR rear derailleur from ebay for almost nothing, it was like new.

I do have a spare daytona group with a long cage derailler and triple front. Iwonder how to get it shift - I don't want to run brifters and friction/thumbies might be a bit too inaccurate for the 9 speed cassette.
