got a couple nice things waiting for the box if it makes it to me. Someone may get some use from them.

jplebrun 07-20-13 11:38 PM

Oh! I gotta get posting!!! I want in! I just stripped an old Fuji and there are plenty of functioning parts that I don't need anymore!

Are you requesting to join the queue? If so, please see the rules so you know what is expected :)

I'm adding you - and striknein, you're in for a second round, too.

my haul... not pictured is a rusty old bell my son needed to have on his bike as soon as he saw it... should be out by later this week, im out of town till wednesday... sorry for the delay..
ill put some nice nice stuff in it to make up for the delay...

smontanaro 07-22-13 08:01 AM

I think that crank puller is one I put in for the last restart. It worked well for me for several years, but it was rather painful to remove bolts that were on good and tight. The handle isn't long enough to provide a lot of leverage, and I found the narrow handle kind of dug into my hand. This became a spare after I got a Park tool. YMMV...

i have a crank puller that you need a wrench for, i wanted to try this guy out, ive been meaning to get a nice park tool, maybe i won't have to now...

smontanaro 07-22-13 09:08 AM

Yes, the Park tool requires a 15mm wrench. You can remove the handle from the Spin Doctor wrench, but as I recall, the resulting flats take an 8mm wrench. Unless you have an extremely well-stocked tool chest, it's unlikely that your 8mm box wrench will have even half the leverage of the original handle. :-)

GordoTrek 07-22-13 11:32 AM

if i need extra leverage, i just use a steel pipe i have, it fits over most of my tools and usually gives me all the leverage i ever need

mechanicmatt 07-22-13 12:10 PM

I so want to join this but need to get the count up. I have lots of the oddball goodies. Once my post count is up I want in, it just looks like a fun game more than anything.

That bell was one of the many things that I threw in there, glad it could go to good use. Rusty as hell, but it still went ding!

jrhii 07-22-13 03:18 PM

macbethpoe, Im pming my address

Yospiff, you should do the same to me soon

Lascauxcaveman 07-23-13 12:17 AM

Please add me to the queue. I have some good crap and some really crappy crap to add to the box. (I promise the really crappy crap is not space-intensive.)

GordoTrek 07-26-13 06:18 AM

the box is going out at lunch time to bici_mania... whew...

GordoTrek 07-29-13 06:49 AM

forgot to mention, i had to take out the saddle bag, i couldn't get it to fit with everything else thats going in it... ill find a home for it, or put it in the box next time around...

GordoTrek 07-31-13 08:15 AM

i hope all bci_mania got it.. it should be there already...if not today

I have received it but do not yet have pictures to post, I will get it in the mail on Saturday. I would have it done sooner but between work, kids going back to school and my own school work, I am one burnt piece of toast.

BTW Gordo, I really dig the blue Trek with the brown seat and bar tape you have at the link in your signature. Is that the '82 412? I really like the grey mountain bike and the Raleigh too but that blue Trek really looks great.

yes thats an 82' 412, built it up over the winter, im sure you can find the forum post on it, and the grey trek mtn bike i built the year before its a 1990 trek 930, i rebuilt it with brand new components and had the frame powdercoated.. lots of fun but expensive...

I'd be willing to bet at small stakes that he did indeed.

bici_mania 08-06-13 08:19 PM

I sent a PM to Macbethpoe for an address, I hope to have it in the mail tomorrow. I will also hopefully have pictures up tomorrow.

Drillium Dude 08-07-13 12:29 AM

Macbethpoe: please check your PMs and check into the thread. You're next up to receive The Box and are being paged for your mailing address :)

Everyone else: check the roster on Page One/Post One and see where you're at; remember, the person in front of you needs your mailing address in order to send you the box.

Hey guys I'm sorry about the delay, I have fallen on some hard times and won't be able to participate, so if you haven't already, go ahead and skip to the next person. Bummer, I have been waiting quite a while. Thanks guys, sorry for the inconvenience.

Drillium Dude 08-07-13 10:27 AM

Bummer deal, macbethpoe - I'm sure I speak for all of us here when I say I hope things improve for you with a quickness :)

Thanks for checking into the net with your update; I've notated the first post with a placeholder for you, so when you're up and running again, check in with us and we'll slot you into the rotation again. Okay?

jrhii - you ready to receive?

macbethpoe 08-07-13 11:06 AM

Thank you drillium, I really appreciate that. And I will be sure to check back in, I have some decent stuff for the box! ;)

bici_mania 08-07-13 11:48 AM

I messaged JRHII and so hopefully the box will be moving either this evening or tomorrow.
