got a couple nice things waiting for the box if it makes it to me. Someone may get some use from them.

Oh! I gotta get posting!!! I want in! I just stripped an old Fuji and there are plenty of functioning parts that I don't need anymore!

I think that crank puller is one I put in for the last restart. It worked well for me for several years, but it was rather painful to remove bolts that were on good and tight. The handle isn't long enough to provide a lot of leverage, and I found the narrow handle kind of dug into my hand. This became a spare after I got a Park tool. YMMV...

Yes, the Park tool requires a 15mm wrench. You can remove the handle from the Spin Doctor wrench, but as I recall, the resulting flats take an 8mm wrench. Unless you have an extremely well-stocked tool chest, it's unlikely that your 8mm box wrench will have even half the leverage of the original handle. :-)
|
if i need extra leverage, i just use a steel pipe i have, it fits over most of my tools and usually gives me all the leverage i ever need
|
I so want to join this but need to get the count up. I have lots of the oddball goodies. Once my post count is up I want in, it just looks like a fun game more than anything.

BTW Gordo, I really dig the blue Trek with the brown seat and bar tape you have at the link in your signature. Is that the '82 412? I really like the grey mountain bike and the Raleigh too but that blue Trek really looks great. |

I have received it but do not yet have pictures to post, I will get it in the mail on Saturday. I would have it done sooner but between work, kids going back to school and my own school work, I am one burnt piece of toast.

I sent a PM to Macbethpoe for an address, I hope to have it in the mail tomorrow. I will also hopefully have pictures up tomorrow.
|
Macbethpoe: please check your PMs and check into the thread. You're next up to receive The Box and are being paged for your mailing address :)
Everyone else: check the roster on Page One/Post One and see where you're at; remember, the person in front of you needs your mailing address in order to send you the box. DD |
Hey guys I'm sorry about the delay, I have fallen on some hard times and won't be able to participate, so if you haven't already, go ahead and skip to the next person. Bummer, I have been waiting quite a while. Thanks guys, sorry for the inconvenience.
|
Bummer deal, macbethpoe - I'm sure I speak for all of us here when I say I hope things improve for you with a quickness :)
Thanks for checking into the net with your update; I've notated the first post with a placeholder for you, so when you're up and running again, check in with us and we'll slot you into the rotation again. Okay? jrhii - you ready to receive? DD |
Thank you drillium, I really appreciate that. And I will be sure to check back in, I have some decent stuff for the box! ;)
|
I messaged JRHII and so hopefully the box will be moving either this evening or tomorrow.
