Nice, but worth it?
I wasn't looking for a frame and didn't bid, but I stumbled across this while looking for my usual bottom feeder junk. Pretty decent kit for touring (or commuting, as I would purpose it), but way too rich for my blood. Opinions? https://www.ebay.com/itm/ws/eBayISAPI...vip=true&rt=nc

in general: too high
if it is exacactly what you have been looking for for the last year and a half, then price discussions are pointless.

Saw a very nice new Fuji touring bike at the local bike shop for around $800. That's not much more than that bike would cost to outfit to the same level, assuming you bought a rack and fenders for the Fuji. Might even save money buying the new Fuji.

The price seems a little high but with the correct matching fenders and rack it puts it in almost a different ballpark than most. When you consider one could easily spend $100+ to find a realy nice set of fenders and rack to match a vintage frame. I would say it is worth about $250. To the right buyer the price is not unrealistic. When you ad in the stem and seat post.

Yeah, if that had been a grail I was looking for, I could see paying that. Obviously loved and cared for by the previous owner. Not a big fan of adjustable stems though, except as a tool to find the right size.

Seems like the seller got top dollar for it, more power to him! It was in nice condition, but I wouldn't have expected to go much over $200. I'll bet the built-up photos with the racks & bags really helped inspire the bidding.

Too high for me, but obviously not for someone else! That is a very clean frame and I think it's lovely, but the unicrown fork just looks out of place to me on a lugged frame. Personally, those fenders would never even get mounted if I bought it. Honjos would look great with that blue!
