I should get a boyfriend of the year award.
I just bought this for my girl and am giving it to her even though it fits me!
...i wants it bad though.
She won't notice a few discrete marks on the seatpost so i can joyride it while she's at work right?
It looks a lot like my old 85 professional. Any guesses as to the year / tubing? has the columbus decal but its too worn to see the type.
Better pictures to come.

Great buy! I just saw the ad on craigslist and was not surprised to see that it was bought up quick. No worries on my end since it's way past my budget right now anyway lol.

You're in the running, I guess. Definitely stiff competition for the Atala I gifted my girlfriend for her birthday in January - especially since I haven't finished the build, and given that a 5000km temporary move means that it won't get done, and she won't even get to ride it, until the beginning of next year. But worthy of the wait, as it were. Must be something about purplish or pinkish Italian bikes, huh?
I, however, face no such dilemma as you re: the urge the ride it. Or the possibility, at least. While I'd absolutely love to give that Atala a spin, my knees wouldn't even clear the ends of the handlebars, in all likelihood, and I'd be prone to topple over were I ever to try. A 10" height difference keeps clear whose bike is is whose, I suppose.
Great De Rosa. Need to see more pics, though (which I see are promised). Otherwise, who's going to be able to judge competition for the award?

Very nice. I hope you have plans to marry that girl...or I would need some type of contract stating that if "she goes - the DeRosa stays". Beautiful bike.

I bought an ex-GF a lemon yellow Schwinn Collegiate. Looked like Pee-wee Herman's girlfriends bike. She rode it ONCE. When we broke up, I got custody. Sold it to a very cute little brunette at the local university. My buddy used to buy each new chicky-pie (his term, not mine) a bike. They always kept them after the breakup. Went through about 4 of them.
Good score. Make sure she rides it regularly.

There is already a verbal contract that if she goes the bike stays. -1 pt but worth it!
Pictures likely won't be up until Sunday.
The difference in our reach is about 1 cm. Should be pretty tolerable to raise the seatpost to ride it as needed

She knows i love her and wouldn't take her bike if she loved it.
I just communicated to her that if anything happened between us and she wasn't in love with the bike that i didn't want her to just sell it.

Yes, the bike stays if she leaves! You hear a lot of horror stories about ex wives/gf selling the bikes or pawning them! The horror! But definitely we wish you the best in your relationship!

Sorry for the serious sounding post, if you could have seen my sarcastic face you'd have laughed.
I'm just older, and have learned that women are way more into feelings than good stuff like bikes.
