1980s Schwinn Sprint
I have a 1980s Schwinn Sprint that I have converted into a single speed. I ride newer road bikes but never have I talked a conversion. So far everything has been super easy but i can't seem to find a front brake that works for the 27 inch tires with reach. Newer brakes don't reach and I really don't want a center pull brake (although I will be doing some local cross races with it and some suggested I should get center pull). I chunked the old brakes because they didn't work. What kind of brake should I get? I wouldn't mind a side pull but if I get one what size? I can't seem to find what brakes specifically goes on older road bikes. Any help would be great. Thanks!

ModernBike in Iowa carries Tektro Model 800 dual pivot brakes that work well and cost about $25 for a set including shipping. Those brakes will reach just about anything. Roger
