update

Brown truck=UPS.

my wife called the police today and left a message "the bike has been recovered". So now it's in the hands of the authorities.

As for my boy, he was ready to ride it to school today WITHOUT A LOCK!!! I guess it's true that you just can't teach common sense.

The police must have different priorities where you live. Here, a cop will laugh at you for reporting a stolen bike, registered or no. Correction, if it's registered you're free to fill out some paperwork.
