Pierce?

I've had this extra set of 28" wheels in the basement for a while just in case an old Pierce turned up and sure enough, here it is. At least the guy claims it's a Pierce. The 28s fit anyway and that's really all I care about. Headbadge rivets are in more or less the right place, early style dropouts, pain in the patukas front dropouts (or pryouts or whatever), tiny seatpost, 45 degree headtube angle (maybe I'm exaggerating). I hope a standard 1 piece crank will fit. I know it should have singletube tires but I've got British clinchers and that's what we're rolling with.
There'll be more better pictures and a better wright up when I can get to it. That might be a while, we're moving next month. Here's the seller's pics;

Ok, had to check. Quicky work with a bevel gauge and a protractor says 67 degree headtube.

Neat!

If you're not concerned about originality, you could probably slot the dropouts on the fork.

What's the doodad sticking out of the bottom of the fork crown?

WTF!! You spread the fork blades to insert the wheel!

Slot the fork.....That's like advocating straightening the stays on a Hetchins, Painting a Chrome Paramont or Chroming a LandShark.....what's happening to the C&V....I need a drink!

I'm having one now. The neighborhood licker store has this new brand of genuine moonshine. The guy says it's fashionable again. Kind of appropriate for a prohibition era bike.
Naw, I'd never do something irreversible like that. I might drill the frame for rod brakes, though I'd have the only fillet brazed roadster out there.

I'll have to finish my (reported to be) Loomis Lightweight and we can ride over and get a drink together....Really cool Pierce frame and fork plus fenders to boot!

Here's my Loomis, just got a set of bars the other day...whoopie!

Here are a couple of Pierce photos I have. Your dropouts are the same. The Pierce bikes have some nice construction details that really stand out. Yours should be a great project!

Yeah, that kind of a 2 piece thingy. I wonder if I can cut down a 3 piece adaptor to fit this shell.
