the primary reason i got the tattoos is because i love the image itself. so i doubt i would ever regret them, even if i lost interest in Zunows for some reason.

Just piling the praise on at this point, but that is an amazing bicycle. Such a beautiful combination of art and function.
It looks like it has a lot of braze-ons, but it's tough to see the details and lugwork from the one photo. We need some more detailed photos!

I was doing some reno work at a friends place , I moved a drop-sheet , there was Soniko's bike ! I heard she was a cyclist in Japan , but to see a Zunow, with the humming -bird lugs , I was speech-less,Beautiful Dura-ace.That was 5 yrs ago , but I persevered and Soniko is back on her bike . Zunow is katana in bike form . I used to have a lugless Japanese frame made of Katakuras tubing that was very pretty !

the bike has a Soubitez bottle generator and front & rear lights. i connected all the wires and the headlight works, but the rear doesn't. anyone know where i can find some instructions on how to install Soubitez lights, to make sure i did it right?
btw the wiring is really cool - the rear light bolts to the seatstay, and the wire runs through the bolt into the chainstay, down the seatube, and up the downtube where it exits just below the headtube:

It looks like your rear light has only one wire going to it. That would be the hot wire. But it also needs a ground. I would guess that it is designed to ground through the frame. That may be what the little threaded hole on the clamp is for, to accommodate a pointed screw that would pierce through the paint to the metal stay to provide a ground. With the cloth tape and paint blocking the ground path the light won't work.
You will need to find a way to ground the light. An easy solution would be to run a wire from the mounting clamp of the light to the mounting screw of the generator. You can test my theory by temporarily attaching a wire between those two points and then testing the light.

ah-ha! there was in fact a ground wire attached before i started messing with it, it was poorly soldered to the light's mount, i think... i didn't look carefully before removing it.
your instructions make sense though - i'll tinker with it tonight and hopefully it will work. i looked at the bulb and it didn't appear to be burnt out.

so, i just completed a full upgrade / modernization of this bike:
Campagnolo drivetrain with NOS 9-speed Chorus brifters, "Racing Triple" rear derailleur, Campy 9-speed chain, and Record 9-speed cassette.
NOS Sugino Dynamic Pro chainrings (re-spaced for narrow 9-speed chain)
Velo-Orange Diagonale 650B wheelset
New Dia-Compe ENE NGC-999 cantilever brakes with Velo-Orange adjustable brake pads
Velo-Orange Grand Cru stem & leather bar tape
Nitto 45cm B135 "randonneur" bars and silver handlebar plugs
Zunow pantographed Suntour Superbe seatpost
Nifty retro LED flashlight with rack clips
New VIA chainstay slap guard and saddle bag clips
The ride is amazing. I've never ridden modern Campagnolo before, and it's better than I imagined. This is now not only the best bike I own, but the best-riding. I'm ready to put some serious miles on this guy.

Where the eff did you find the chainrings and flashlight mounts?
If you have VO pads in the holders, I recommend replacing them with something else (I like Kool Stop) as they are rim eaters.

That's pretty much outstanding. Not just the design, but also the craftsmanship and detail work.
I'd be careful about tugging on any wires that run through the frame, especially something as thin as the seatstays. It can be difficult to thread one through later, which you may very well want to do in the future to upgrade the lighting. I spent a day trying to thread wires through a fork leg they were never supposed to go through before I got out my zip ties.

yeah, i compared them side-by-side to the offering from Velo Orange and they seemed superior in just about every way. not surprising considering how many years of experience Dia-Compe has had with designing cantilever brakes.
