Schwinn Superior Day..What did you ride.

Road 20 Miles on the 81 superior to another C&V er's LBS.. GREAT Ride but popped a link on the chain and nursed it home slowly so the chain wouldn't break. So much for the 30 yr old chain!

Beautiful bike; it deserves a new chain.

I would never trust a 30 year old chain.

I replace any chain which has elongated by 1/2 percent or more, per Sheldon Brown's recommendation. I have broken lots of other stuff, including frames, pedals, hubs, axles, and cranks, but never a chain.

That is a sharp-looking bike, though -- great color, and in very nice condition.

I rode my newly acquired Katakura Silk for part of the afternoon. I believe it's International Slow Bike Day, so I took it easy and enjoyed the incredible weather, and rode a pleasant, narrow and winding bike path...

...that ended up here.

Got home, mowed the grass, then took an evening ride on my Raleigh International that I've converted to 3 speed IGH. Enjoyed a Guinness after that. All things considered, can't think of a better way to have spent the day.

Nice bike indeed, love the color.

I had my Superior out last weekend for a short 10 mile ride. It a little older yet...50 years this month.

Took my 43 yr old Gitane, with 43 yr old chain for a ride. Odometer on bike reads 465 miles. And i think thats accurate. So maybe by its 50th birthday I will replace the chain.
