87 Paramount Font?
Does anyone know a font that will duplicate or approximate the font of the decals on an 87 Schwinn Paramount? This would be like the one Scooper owns.

As are most trademark fonts.
Fortunately the design is not that challenging to duplicate.

The reason I need the font is that I would like to spell out S U P E R S P O R T in that font as a kind of Paramount homage on my 87 Super Sport.

Well, if all you're wanting is a typeface that sort of emulates that particular Paramount logotype, you could use Microgramma Exended or Eurostyle Exended. Either one could be fairly easily manipulated to closely resemble what you're looking for.

I type it out in CorelDraw, Convert to Curves, then add/remove/drag nodes and handles 'til it looks right. Save to vector PDF.
You can also do this in Illustrator and possibly Flash.
Similar functions may be possible in Inkscape, which is free, also.

It was just faster to make an example than it is to explain the ins and outs of bezier curves and converting to paths. If this will work for you, send me a PM and I'll forward you the Illustrator file.

If you are going to use a sign shop to make them just bring a copy/picture of the font you want and let them do their thing. That is what the do for a living and do all the time. Also please don't quote me as it is one more E-mail I have to deal with. Roger

@rhenning,
You should go to Settings (upper right) > My Settings (Left Column) > Settings (under User Tagging)
Then check the box marked "Disable Quote Emails"
Also check the box marked "Disable Mention Emails" if you disliked the email generated by my mention of you.
Back to the subject at hand, I wouldn't mess around with in-house art staff at a sign shop after AZORCH has done a great job on the art already.
