My guess is that it was thrown back together by someone who isn't a bike person just to take the picture. I'd be surprised if the wheel even clears the down tube like that.

Wow, a gear- and brake-bedazzled stayer bike; what will those clever Japanese think of next?

That same bike --same photo-- was on CL in Flemington NJ last week. Probably still is. I smell a scam.

Can anyone say "toe strike"?? Very strange anyone would even think of bolting a stem like that.
Scam?? Now that IS believeable.

interesting to me is the "club fuji feather" model name. I had a '76 fuji feather track bike and have not seen "feather" used on any model until the recent re-introduction? of the name in Fuji's newer line of fixed gear/track bikes.
These are from my track bike:

Maybe the bike in Hartford is actually a 47ish club Fuji. It's possible that they used the most terrible photo they could find on the internet to put in their ad instead of taking pics of the actual bike.

No, no, seriously, the supposed seller knows enough about the bike in the photo to know the fork was on backwards. He clearly wants you to believe this is his bike. And maybe it is: while I seriously doubt both sales are legit, I have no reason to assume the Hartford one is bogus. It is equally possible that the NJ one was bogus.

^^Correct! For, as it is written:
"'There!' said Ford, shooting out his arm. 'There, behind that sofa!'
"Arthur looked. Much to his surprise, there was a velvet paisley-covered Chesterfield sofa in the field in front of them. He boggled intelligently at it. Shrewd questions sprang into his mind.
"'Why,' he said, 'is there a sofa in that field?'
"'I told you!' Shouted Ford, leaping to his feet. 'Eddies in the space-time continuum!'
"'And this is his sofa, is it?' asked Arthur, struggling to his feet and, he hoped, though not very optimistically, to his senses."

You make a good point! But, hey, it's only a half hour drive for you, right? Get in your car, prove me wrong, nothing would make me happier!

yeah this is great area for buying. Unless you sell at one of the universities or nyc, forget about getting a decent deal.
However so far CT has been great for finding old stuff on garage sales for cheap.
