I know you were just getting it "on the road"...but that front wheel REALLY stands out...and not in a great way...look forward to seeing pics of it with a more appropriate wheel. I am not usually one to say anything like this...but...it just jumped off the page at me!

I do think you have a stellar bike here however! And...realize that the wheel got you rolling on it!

Yeah, I've thought about that but haven't decided. The San Marco is pretty dirty, so it may look better cleaned up a bit. Any tips on cleaning bright-colored saddles? This is the first one I've owed that isn't black or brown.

I think you're right about the white tape. To me, steel Italians cry out for it.

I know, it's a real eyesore. But the LBS gave it to me for $20 from a pile in the basement, including tire and tube. Tough to beat that price for a temporary fix.

WOW, that is easily a $2,000 bike. Here is a pic of my just built 1984 SLX Guerciotti, with Campy Chorus everything but the SR rear d.. Cinelli bars and stem.

Cobalto vs. Super Record.

Both calipers are identicle.

Cobalto calipers have the Campagnolo script filled in with blue.
Cobalto calipers have white rubbers on the adjusters
Cobalto calipers have center nuts that accept blue plastic 'jewels'

There's a seller on Ebay who has very nice reproduction jewels with the little lip. It's well worth acquiring the proper center nut.

SUPER RECORD

COBALTO

Thanks for the tip, @miamijim. The original owner told me he lost the jeweled nuts ages ago, and I'd like to have as complete a group as possible.
